Effective date: July 9, 2026

These Terms set out the rights, obligations and responsibilities between you (the "User") and the developer (the "Developer") in connection with your use of Ridemate (the "Service"). By downloading or using the Service, you are deemed to have agreed to these Terms.

Article 1 (Nature of the Service)

Ridemate is a personal utility application for motorcycle owners that provides vehicle management (consumable replacement, service history, insurance expiry reminders), ride logging, and emergency-assist notifications. The Service is provided for convenience only and is not a device that guarantees safety or prevents accidents.

Article 2 (Eligibility)

The Service may only be used by persons aged 14 or older. Because the Service includes features related to riding a motorcycle, Users must comply with the traffic laws and driver's licence requirements of their country or region.

Article 3 (Important Notice on Emergency Detection and SOS Features)

⚠ Please read carefully

Ridemate's crash/fall detection and automatic SOS alert features are assistive features based on your smartphone's sensors and location data. They do not guarantee that every accident will be detected or that an emergency alert will always be sent successfully.

3-1. Limitations of the feature

For various reasons, including those below, accident detection or the sending of an SOS message may be delayed, may fail, or may not work at all:

3-2. Duty to report on your own

You must clearly understand that this feature does not replace calling 119 (or your local emergency number). In the event of an accident, or as soon as you become aware of a risk of one, you should, regardless of the app's automatic detection, as a rule contact the emergency services directly or ask people nearby for help. This feature is strictly an assistive measure.

3-3. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Developer is not liable for any malfunction, failure to operate, or delay of the SOS feature, or for any physical or property damage arising from it. This does not apply where the Developer's intentional misconduct or gross negligence is clearly proven.

Article 4 (Medical Information Card and User-Entered Information)

The accuracy and currency of the information you enter in the medical information card (blood type, allergies, medications, etc.) is entirely your own responsibility. The Developer does not verify the accuracy of the information entered and is not responsible for any consequences arising from inaccurate information.

Article 5 (Ride Records and GPS Data)

Ride records (distance, speed, time, etc.) are estimates calculated using the smartphone's GPS and may differ from actual values. These records are provided for reference only and cannot be used as legal or official evidence.

Article 6 (Data Storage and Backup)

Data in the Service (vehicle information, service history, ride records, etc.) is stored locally on your device. Data may be permanently lost if you delete the app, reset the device, or lose or damage the device, and the Developer is not responsible for any data loss. We recommend that you back up important data yourself using the backup (export) function in the settings menu.

Article 7 (Third-Party Services)

The Service uses third-party services such as weather information (OpenWeatherMap) and push notifications and analytics (Firebase/Google). The Developer is not responsible for functional limitations caused by outages, policy changes or discontinuation of those services.

Article 8 (Changes to and Suspension of the Service)

The Developer may change or suspend all or part of the Service as operationally or technically necessary, and will give prior notice in such cases. In urgent cases, notice may be given afterwards instead.

Article 9 (Intellectual Property)

Intellectual property rights in the characters, logos, designs, source code and other elements of the Service belong to the Developer. Content you create (such as ride share cards) may be freely used for personal purposes and for sharing on social media.

Article 10 (Disclaimer)

The Developer is not liable in any of the following cases:

Article 11 (Governing Law and Jurisdiction)

Disputes relating to these Terms are governed by applicable law. The specific governing law and competent court will be stated separately after legal review of the laws of the Developer's location and of the regions where the Service is provided.

Article 12 (Changes to These Terms)

If these Terms change, notice will be given through an app update or an announcement. Continued use of the Service after the notice is deemed acceptance of the changed Terms.
